Privacy notice
What personal information we collect, why, who processes it for us, how long we keep it and your rights.
This notice explains what personal information Connected Insurance Hub collects through connectedinsurancehub.com, why, who processes it for us, how long it is kept, and the rights you have. It applies to visitors, members, newsletter subscribers, customers who buy from us and anyone who contacts us.
Who we are
Connected Insurance Hub ("we", "us") is the controller of the personal information described here. For anything about this notice or your information, email hello@connectedinsurancehub.com.
What we collect
If you become a member or subscribe to the newsletter
- Your email address, and your name if you give it.
- Your membership status, the newsletter you subscribe to, and the date you joined.
- How you found us: the page you signed up from and the pages you viewed in that visit before signing up.
- Whether our newsletter emails are opened and which links in them are clicked.
If you buy something from us
Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email address, what you bought, payment status and limited billing details such as country. We never see or store your full card number.
If you contact us
The contact form on this site does not send or store anything. It opens a pre-filled email in your own email app. When you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include, such as your name, organisation, role and the details of your enquiry.
When you use our tools
The diagnostic, calculators, scorecards and deck builders run in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us or stored on our servers. The tools save your progress in your own browser so you can return to it later; you can clear it at any time through your browser settings. If you choose "Email your result", the tool opens a pre-filled email in your own email app, and we receive only what you send. The Investor Assessment Framework can keep assessments you save in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab.
When you browse the site
We use Ghost's built-in analytics, which do not use cookies. They record which pages are viewed, where visits come from (for example a search engine or a link on another site), the type of device and browser, and approximate location derived from your connection. We use this to understand which content is useful. It is not used to identify you or to advertise to you. Details of the small amount of information stored in your browser are on our Cookies page.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers, who process information only on our instructions:
- Ghost (Ghost Foundation): hosts the website, membership system and newsletter, and provides the site analytics.
- Ghost's email delivery provider: sends newsletters and sign-in emails on Ghost's behalf.
- Stripe: processes payments and helps prevent payment fraud.
- jsDelivr: a content delivery network that serves the scripts for sign-up, sign-in and site search. Like any website request, it receives your IP address and browser details.
Some of these providers process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer relies on UK adequacy regulations or on contractual safeguards approved for use under UK data protection law.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to professional advisers under a duty of confidentiality.
How long we keep it
- Membership and newsletter data: while your membership is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete it, apart from anything we must keep by law.
- Payment records: six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax and accounting.
- Enquiries: up to two years after our last contact, unless they lead to work together, in which case they are kept for the life of the engagement and the following six years.
- Analytics: kept in a form that does not identify individual visitors.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including for analytics;
- give you your information in a portable format.
You can withdraw consent to the newsletter at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email, or from your account page. Members can update details or delete their account from the account page, reached through "Member sign in" in the site footer. For anything else, email hello@connectedinsurancehub.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
